This weekend is Easter Sunday, and after many rainy days, spring has steadily brought warmer weather, green grass, and daffodils. It couldn’t be a better time to celebrate an Easter family gathering and we’ve got a beautiful table setting that’s ready for the holiday.

Country chic, especially in kitchen and dining areas, has really grown in popularity, and it’s the perfect complement to nature-inspired décor elements.

For this Easter table setting, we stuck with a limited pastel color scheme that included white, light blue, butter yellow, and just a touch of green. Typically, the rainbow colors of the Easter eggs you hide around the yard are a little too over powering for this subtle look. Forgoing the oranges, pinks and purples adds a grown-up sense to the design without losing that light-hearted air.

We chose china that captured a lovely cottage style feel, featuring traditional embellishments. The best way to layer in visual interest in your table setting is by mixing different plates and colors. This is easily done by going to a thrift store or an antique store and purchasing china that doesn’t belong to a set. You can customize your look and it’s pretty inexpensive. The key to mixing and matching is to keep a few similarities amidst the pieces. Soft edges and flower designs will keep continuity even if the plates and dishes differ in color.

To make the setting a little more special, try gold or copper silverware. This will elevate the style and give your guests a sense of formality for the occasion.

What is an Easter celebration without painted eggs? If you want to put a finish touch on your table setting, try coloring your eggs with the same color scheme as your plates napkins etc. This will give your décor magazine quality style!

If fresh flowers are your thing, then the more the merrier for your table! We went with something a little off the beaten path and used moss, branches and birds’ nests to create the perfect center piece. You can get robins’ eggs, miniature nests and unique florals like these branches at your local craft store. Also, think about incorporated a spring wreath! They’re great for shabby chic décor, adding even more spring inspired grace and charm. And, of course, a bunny shaped dish completes the look!

Don’t forget to give your server a little love! It’s the perfect spot for displaying the much-anticipated dessert! Add a secondary vase and floral arrangement to tie into your table setting, and you’re done!

Happy Easter!
