Neutral is a Natural in Bedroom Décor

If you found yourself spending more time at home than you expected to, you might be feeling stuck in the same old space.  It’s a new year, and there’s no better time to refresh your bedroom! The iNSPIRE Q Design Team is here to share with you 3 simple home décor trends of 2021 for your bedroom.

Keep it simple with a warm, neutral color palette.

Warm neutrals like beige, cream, taupe, and oak are a popular interior design trend, and it’s easy to see why! They offer a crisp, clean, yet comfy look to the space. Plus, they also serve as a blank canvas, so you can accent your space with your own personal flair.

Take a look at our bedroom:

Pictured is our bedroom with all our home decor trends for 2021. The center of the room has a taupe velvet upholstered bed with two wood nightstands. The room also features a tall wood chest, a white and gold dresser, a beige button tufted cocktail ottoman, and two antique grey wood accent chairs.

We anchored the room with a light taupe velvet-upholstered bed and used primarily white bedding. All other pieces are either a shade of white, grey, or light brown, as well as painting the walls white (save for the accent wall). By doing so, the light hues create an understated look that brings out the richness and textures of our décor. It also makes the gold accents and touches of greenery pop out more too!

Add a natural element.

One of the biggest home décor trends in 2021 is all about mixed wood tones! Pieces with a visible wood grain finish make for a natural, inviting aesthetic, that pairs beautifully with warm neutrals. It looks great in sunlight too!

You don’t need to have big wooden furniture. For our bedroom, we used two nightstands and a chest in a matching light oak finish. Rattan is an especially popular home décor trend, as it looks highly sophisticated and timeless.

Don’t be afraid to play with textures and materials!

With the blank canvas of a neutral color palette, you can have some fun playing with various textures and materials! Wood textured wall are another great home décor trend in 2021, as they are eye-catching but not overwhelming to the senses.

Pictured is our Kedric 6-Drawer Gold Accent Dresser by iNSPIRE Q Bold in a white finish. Keeping with the home decor trends, the dresser is decorated with some neutral-hued candles and a decorative silver tree figure. Behind the dresser is a wood textured accent wall.

On our white walls, we decorated them with woven pieces, the material being similar to the rattan of the accent chairs. The beige ottoman is button-tufted. The bed is upholstered in pleated velvet, while the lush bedding features faux fur and thick blankets. These pieces, along with all our other décor, add depth and visual interest to the room as they maintain a cozy, homey atmosphere.

Pictured is our Pleated Velvet Wingback Bed in a light taupe grey hue. We played with textures a lot here, and so we have brown faux fur blankets and pillows. We also hung woven pieces of wall decor above the bed to keep with the 2021 home decor trend.

Same space, new year! And there’s no better way to bring in the new year than with a refreshed bedroom. These 3 simple home décor trends of 2021 from the iNSPIRE Q Design Team are here to help make your bedroom warmer, cozier, and better than ever!
